About us

The City of Plymouth Model Boat Club was formed in 1977 to bring together people interested in model boating. The club now has 40+ members, and we cater for all aspects of model boating excluding I.C.  We are a friendly club, and the emphasis is always to enjoy our hobby!

We have regular competitions including yacht racing (Fairwind, Discovery and Weenip class), straight running (!!) and occasional steering competions.

The club has the use of the pond located in the city centre with all round access.

We also have use of a large brackish lake at Millbrook, Nr. Torpoint.

Members can sail on Sundays all year and Wednesday Evenings in the summer. If you do wish to pay us a visit , please contact a commitee member before you travel, as the club regularly supports various other clubs and events during the summer.

New members are always made welcome!
